Calendar Layouts are Private by default. You can publish events to them, but visitors will not be able to see details - only times and titles. To see details, the visitor must sign in to your site.
You can change this behaviour - allow anybody to see details - by setting its Permissions to All Users = View All Details. For a Booking Calendar, also set All Users = Edit Objects.
If you do not have access to change permissions, ask your Administrator to change Private to Public for your Calendars.
To create a new Event, click the Event Action in the File Manager and fill in the resulting popup with a date, time, and location, together with any notes you want to attach.
