THE SIDEBAR is a special Layout that automatically generates a global Sidebar from everything that is published within it.
You can configure it in the Theme Designer: place it to the left, to the right, or merge it with the body to make a footer.
Layouts you create in the Sidebar becomes flat menus.
Pages you create in the Sidebar becomes content boxes - areas with text, images, or other media.
Widgets you create here will appear as content boxes or buttons. When the Sidebar is a Footer, it will not display Widgets. In this case, place your Widgets in the SiteFooter instead.
Sort the Sidebar by clicking More Actions, then the Sorting Action. You can sort by title, by date, or manually.
Make Sidebar items context-sensitive: Sidebar items are embedded in other pages, so their Keywords fields has no relevance for SEO or Search Engines. Here, Keywords are used for context-sensitivity instead.
Any Sidebar item will be displayed on all pages unless they have keywords. Use the filename [the URL fragment] of any Page as the keyword, and the Sidebar item will only be displayed there. Comma-separate filenames to add any number of specific pages.
The Sidebar is a System Object: it cannot be deleted, renamed, or moved.
